In short, VideoLib is a platform for video content management, distribution, and analytics. Depending on user permissions, it enables several actions:

Management

1. Store videos with metadata to improve search.
2. Search and retrieve stored videos.
3. Prepare videos for end users, including extraction of images, speech-to-text, and scene recognition to improve discoverability.

Distribution

1. Generate streaming URLs for playback. VideoLib currently supports live and on-demand video.
2. Allow users to download content when enabled by managers.

Every playback generates analytics data, which can be used to understand audience behavior.
